I can hardly believe that half the year has gone by already. We just celebrated New Year’s, didn’t we? Now here we are just a few days before Independence Day, 2010.
I am happy to say that during June we saw a large number of returning customers and even larger numbers of new customers walk through our doors.
David and Hal sometimes see as many as eight or more parts customers at the counter at one time, several times a day. Mark has so much service and repair work that we brought in another Certified RV technician. Wayne and our Sales Associates have had a very busy month; busy enough to add another Associate to the team.
Our Internet Manager (Webmaster) reports visits to www.sandersrvs.com have set a new record high in June. He has also started creating video slideshows for our RV inventory. You can find them on our website under the photos of various RVs with more on the way. The videos are hosted on YouTube but are embeded on the inventory detail pages of our website.

Ever since we began J.D.’s Digest I have been writing about service and repair issues as well as maintenance requirements when owning a travel trailer, motorhome or fifth-wheel. This month I want to share with you what my department does for every new and used RV that we sell. The list below pertains to towable RVs and motorhomes:
L.P. GAS SYSTEM / APPLIANCES – Manometer (pressure) test – refrigerator, furnace, range & oven, water heater, burn tests – inspect LP gas container(s);
120 VOLT SYSTEM / APPLIANCES – AC voltage, converter/inverter, refrigerator, GFI, microwave/convection tests;
12 VOLT SYSTEM / APPLIANCES – converter charging systems- refrigerator operation – power hood fan – power step operation – central vacuum system operation (if any);
FRESH WATER / DRAINAGE SYSTEMS – pump, lines, faucets, fittings, city water connection – toilet, gate valves, holding tanks – shower head, shower enclosure;
SUSPENSION / BRAKES – leaf springs, torsion bar suspension, wheel bearings [inspected/operation/repair as necessary]
AWNING / LIFT SYSTEM – lift system: cables, pulleys, motor(s) switches, tongue jack [lube/cleaned/inspected/operated] – awning: mechanical hardware, arms, roller tube and fabric [inspected / operation]
GENERATOR – operation, checked for leaks, voltage output [change oil and filters, inspected / operated]
LEVELING SYSTEM / SLIDE-OUT SYSTEM – fill fluids [lube/cleaned/inspected/operated]
Any used motorhomes we sell go to a local ASE Certified mechanic for engine, transmission and chassis inspection.
