    Tamiami Trail Scenic Drive

Sunshine, white sandy beaches, miles upon miles of blue water coastline; what's not to love about Florida?!

What better way to experience everything it has to offer than by traveling the scenic highways. The Tamiami Trail Scenic Highway- The windows to the Gulf coast, traverses through miles of coastline for picturesque views of the Gulf and ventures inland through the everglades, so you can experience the beauty of the beaches and the exotic wilderness of the tropical forests. Starting in Sarasota and traveling south on US 41, the trail hugs the coastline for most of the trip before ending in downtown Miami.

Along the way you'll venture through the coastal towns of Bradenton, Venice, Fort Meyers, Cape Coral, Naples and Marco Island before heading  inland toward Miami. The towns along the way are rich with culture, architecture, history and recreation.  There is plenty of shopping and restaurants to stop at.  Places that are a must to stop and visit are Shark Alley, one of the many entrances to the everglades, where you can get out and hike, bike, or take a tram ride.

You may even run into a few alligator along the way. Or you can pull your RV over at Collier Seminole State Park where many flock to for camping, hiking or paddling.

Florida is an ever-popular snowbird destination, but many stick to the beaches in one area. Venture out this month and take a drive along the Tamiami Trail. You won't be sorry that you did.
